About Our Recreational Programs

Creative Movement Program: Age 1.5-3 years

Creative Movement Program (Ages 1.5-3 years)

(30-minute class)

Our creative movement class will be an introduction to young dancers to both ballet and jazz. Parents are welcome to sit in on this class and take it with their dancer. Dancer’s in this class will listen to fun songs where they will learn actions such as skipping, marching, and galloping, etc. This is where dance begins for our youngest dancers! 

Kinder Program: Age 3-6 years

Kinder Jazz/Tap (Ages 3-6 years)

Our kinder jazz/tap class will be a continuation from our creative movement class where dancer’s will add-on to their knowledge of jazz, as well as learn the basics of tap. Dancer’s in this class will begin to learn more intricate dance movements and techniques stemming from the ADAPT Jazz & Tap Syllabus. 

Kinder Ballet (Ages 3-6 years)

(45-minute class)

Our kinder ballet class will be a continuation from our creative movement class where dancer’s will add-on to their knowledge of ballet technique. This class will focus solely on ballet, as well as flexibility and an introduction to the RAD Ballet Syllabus. 

Kinder Hip-Hop/Tumble Tot (Ages 3-6 years)

Our kinder hip-hop/tumble tot class will be an introduction to the basics of hip-hop dance as well as basic tumble/acro foundation. This class will focus on finding rhythms, the “groove” of hip-hop and the basic understanding of safe ways to tumble with the assistance of teachers. 

Beginner Acro (Ages 4-7 years)

Our kinder acro class will be an introduction to the techniques of acro dance. Using the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, dancers will learn how to properly warm-up their body for acro dance as well as the beginning of certain tricks, such as: somersaults, cartwheels, bridges and handstands. 

Junior Program: Age 6-9 years

Junior Jazz/Tap (Age 6-9 years)

Our junior jazz/tap class will again be a further understanding of both jazz and tap techniques. Using the ADAPT syllabus, dancer’s will be taught safe stretching methods, barre work and centre work to enhance their understanding and development of their jazz & tap techniques. 

Junior Ballet (Age 6-9 years)

(45-minute class)

Our junior ballet class will continue to use the RAD Ballet Syllabus and will continue to teach dancer’s the foundation of dance through proper technique, posture and a thorough understanding of one’s body and how it moves as both one-piece and individualized parts. 

Junior Hip-Hop (Age 6-9 years)

(45-minute class)

Our junior hip-hop class will continue to build on the foundations learned in “Tumble Tot” hip-hop. This class will continue to develop the dancer's sense of rhythm and understanding of music and levels used within music. 

Junior/Intermediate Acro (Age 7-10 years)

(45-minute class)

Our Junior/Intermediate Acro will be a continuation from our kinder acro class and a continuation in the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Dancers will continue to learn safe warm-up and stretching techniques when preparing for their tricks. Dancers will also continue their knowledge of their previous tricks learned in kinder acro as well as build on those tricks by learning other elements such as: split somersaults, cartwheels, 1-handed cartwheels, round-offs, handstands, elbow stands, chest stands, headstands, and possibly back/front walkovers.

7 & Under Musical Theatre (Age 4-7 years)

Our 7 & Under Musical Theatre class will be an introduction to Musical Theatre Dance. This class is rooted in the diverse history of Broadway Musicals where techniques from ballet, tap and jazz are prominent. Dancer’s in this class will learn basic dance technique as well as a vast history of Broadway and will utilize acting components, such as; music interpretation and character development to combine both acting and dancing together.

8 & Over Musical Theatre (Age 8+ years)

(45-minute class)

Our 8+ Musical Theatre class will be a more in-depth look and understanding of Musical Theatre Dance. This class is rooted in the diverse history of Broadway Musicals where techniques from ballet, tap and jazz are prominent. Dancer’s in this class will learn basic/intermediate dance technique as well as a vast history of Broadway and will utilize acting components, such as; music interpretation and character development to combine both acting and dancing together.

Pre-Teen/Teen Program: Age 10+

Pre-Teen Jazz/Lyrical (Age 10+ years)

(60-minute class)

Our pre-teen jazz/lyrical class will be a continuation of the ADAPT jazz syllabus work. Working on both flexibility as well as more intricate center and traveling sequences. This class will also introduce older dancer’s to lyrical dance - a mix of jazz and ballet dance that focuses on story-telling and slower movements, with great attention to proper technique and placement. 


Pre-Teen/Teen Hip-Hop (Age 10+ years)

(45-minute class)

Our pre-teen & teen hip-hop class will focus on high energy, music and the putting together of movements in a combination format as well as enhancing our traveling and centre sequences as well. 

Pre-Teen/Teen Ballet (Age 10+)

(60-minute class)

Our pre-teen & teen ballet will be combined with our Junior Competitive Level Ballet. This class will focus on the continuation of proper technique, stretching methods and dancer’s in this class will be required to memorize exercises from the RAD Syllabus. 

Intermediate/Advanced Acro (Age 10+ - based on skill level)

(60-minute class)

Our Intermediate/Advanced Acro will be a continuation from our Junior/Intermediate Acro class and a continuation of the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Dancers will execute more intricate stretching and strengthening exercises as well as continue on their understanding of acro dance by perfecting their previous acro tricks and working on tougher variations. Dancers can expect to learn skills such as: handstands, shoulder stands, chest stands, elbow stands (all with extensive variations), cartwheels, 1-handed cartwheels, round-offs (landing both standing and on a knee), back walkovers, front walkovers (possibly with 1 hand) and dive rolls. Things like aerials and other tumbling sequences may be taught pending the level of dancers in the class. Dancers who register for this class must have acro experience and understanding of basic acro techniques.
